Sandra Maurer
Sandra Maurer, a resident of Murphys, California, is primarily a self-taught
watercolorist. She paints exclusively in watercolor and strives to capture
the spirit and essence of her subjects through the play of light and shadow.
Sandra has studied ornithology and life science extensively and enjoys
painting and capturing the beauty of plants, animals and birds in their natural setting.

but also my passion for the natural world."
Sandra has won local awards for her watercolor art including Best
of Show in the Calaveras County Fair. She has been an educator in both
Sonoma and Calaveras Counties and has implemented art in her teaching
programs. Her work has also been included in children's literature. She
has also worked in product design as an electronic technician with
Hewlett Packard. Sandra has studied under local artists Martha Wallace,
Carol MacPherson as well as Jane Hofstetter, Dale Laitinen and Jill Figler.
She currently serves as a board member for the local organization, Arts of Bear
Valley.
